“Italia Mia” Takes Hong Kong

CICS proactively supported “Italia Mia”, a festival consisting of events including; presentation of award-winning Italian films, exhibitions, lectures on arts and culture, concerts, performances, and gastronomy events, all in support of promoting cultural exchanges between Italy, Hong Kong and Macau. This partnership between the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong, the Society and The Italian Chamber of Commerce strengthened ongoing cultural appreciation.

Food and Law Conference

The Society supported “Food and Law,” an international conference bringing together 27 thought leaders—government officials, academics, attorneys, and food industry executives—to explore the important intersection of food safety, trade, and culture across Hong Kong, Asia, and the EU. Co-organised with the Italian Consulate General and hosted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Law, the Conference was a successful exchange benefitting all.

CICS supported the work of the remarkable Father Franco Mella, an Italian-Hong Kong activist who has worked tirelessly since 1974 in support of the disadvantaged in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Our donation reflected our commitment to uplifting communities and celebrating true heroes.

The Society welcomed Mr. Antonello De Riu as Italy’s Consul General 2014 - 2018 to Hong Kong with a special reception.

The celebration included an evening’s dinner at The Peninsula Hotel, celebrating the connection between Italy and Hong Kong.

Distinguished Italian Guests in Hong Kong

CICS in partnership with the Italian Consulate General, honored distinguished guests Dr. Eike Schmidt (Director of the Uffizi Galleries, currently Director of the Capodimonte Museum and Royal Park), Dr. Flaminia Santori (Director of the Gallerie Nazionali Berberini Corsini from 2015-2023), actress Ms. Paola Calliari, and Honorary Chairman of CICS Carmelo Ficarra. A special dinner at Castellana was paired with Italian wines by Gelardini & Romani Wine Auction. Consul General Mr. Carmelo Ficarra co-hosted the event while Raimondo Romani (CEO of Gelardini & Romani Wine Auction) and Matteo Morello (owner of Castellana) curated the dining experience.
