Renaissance Masterpieces in Hong Kong
CICS, working in partnership with the University of Hong Kong, supported bringing the art of the Italian Renaissance to Hong Kong. Held at the University of Hong Kong Museum and Art Gallery, “Shaping the Human Body: Florentine Sculptures of the Italian Renaissance” showcased eight breathtaking sculptures from Florence’s prestigious Bellini collection. The rarely-seen masterpieces included important works by Donatello, Francesco di Valdambrini, Luca della Robbia, Giovanni della Robbia, Gregorio di Lorenzo, and Giovanni Francesco Rustici. These 500-year-old treasures have rarely been seen beyond Italy’s borders.
CICS, in conjunction with the University, arranged workshops and lecture open to the public to extend community impact and educational outreach.
